How do you go about transferring your domain to Karma Names? It's a pretty simple process! Just follow these easy steps:
1- Ensure that 60 days or more have passed since you registered or last transferred your domain. Renewals in the last 60 days are ok.
2- Sign into your current domain's control panel.
3- Unlock your domain. It's often located under a Security submenu.
4- Disable contact privacy or ID protection.
5- Check that your administrative contact email address is current.
6- Get your EPP code, it may also be referred to as Auth-Info, Authorization Code, or Transfer Code. It will be a random series of numbers, letters and symbols. Some registrars display it in our control panels, and others will email it to the adminisitrative contact.
7- Once you have your EPP code, you're ready to transfer your domain to Karma Names! Go to karmanames.com, put your domain in the domain search box and click Transfer. The next page will confirm that it is possible to transfer it and how much it will cost. Click to continue.
8- The following page has a input box for your EPP code. Plus, there are check boxes for DNS Management, Email forwarding and ID Protection. We recommend that you select all of these, they're free! And lastly, spaces for your Nameservers. You can either use Karma Names' names servers here or if your hosting is currently with another provider, you will need to check your current domain control panel to see what nameservers you are using. They usually are in the form of ns1.example.com and normally you will just have 2.
9- Click on Update Cart and you will be taken to the check out. At this point, you can either click on continue shopping, which will allow you to go back and add another domain registration/transfer or hosting package to your order, or you can simply finish the check out process by adding your contact info to the form and then processing your payment through PayPal.
10- Once your payment is processed, you will receive an email from Karma Names asking you to confirm your domain transfer, all you need to do is click on the link in the email where it says to confirm and will open up a page in your internet browser confirming your choice.
11- About a day after the transaction, another email will come from your previous registrar asking you to confirm the transfer. In that email, there will be a link where you can confirm your transfer. Click it and again a page will open in your browser where you will confirm the transfer of your domain. You can also choose to ignore this email and in about 5 days, your domainn will automatically transfer to Karma Names.
